Monday, 26 April 2010

West Coast Metric is one of the pioneers when it comes to VW parts in the USA. They have been around as a family owned and operated business since 1977, as a leader in importing quality parts and accessories in the USA. In addition they manufacture many parts that have been discontinued by VW.

They are known for the quality window rubbers and seals. But enough about West Coast Metric, check it out yourself in their web-shop!

Just Kampers Print E-mail
Monday, 26 April 2010

I've been keeping an eye on this webshop for a while and it seems as if their selection of vw bus accesoiries and parts just keeps on growing and growing. All wrapped into a nice and user-friendly webshop with prices in Euro, GBP and USD, covering most of the worlds customers. Although I don't have any personal experience with these guys as yet, I still think this is a good one to add to your collection of VW shops. Even if it was just for the Rock and Roll Seat Brackets they sell: brand new!

Looking for a new or custom speedometer? Original oil temperature gauge or tachometer? Look no furhter, the boys at North Hollywood Speedometer & Clock Co. have it all.

Not only do they deliver gauges, but also the corresponding senders and mounting equipment. Pretty expensive (at least from my point of view) but definately one of the few (or the only) supplier for original looking VW gauges!

Wolfsburg West Print E-mail
Tuesday, 10 June 2008

One of my friends directed me to Wolfsburg West, an American company, that has been in the business for more than 20 years, making Wolfsburg West the ultimate source for Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Bus restoration parts.

They maintain a very easy to use and up to date web shop, which makes buying at Wolfsburg West a piece of cake. My personal experience was more than satisfactory: I bought a couple of bearings, bushes and door seals, that were delivered at my place in the Netherlands only 3 days later!

Metamorfose Print E-mail
Wednesday, 20 June 2007

Chrome plating will probably never come cheap, at least not if you want it to be done well. Now a day, a lot of new chrome parts come from Brazilian factories or other countries that have underpaid personnel. The drawback from this cheap chrome is that the quality is pretty poor. I have seen stuff started to rust within half a year.

Metamorfose is a Dutch company that chrome plates anything, whether it is small or big. You can request for a proposal by sending a picture and mentioning the sizes of the object you would like to have chrome plated. They guarantee that you won’t survive the quality of their product. Delivery might take some time, but it is worth the wait. Contact them for details on international orders.

Paruzzi Print E-mail

Although Paruzzi is a specialist in bug parts, they do deserve to be mentioned as an approved supplier because of their superb web-store and postal services. Orders placed via the web-store will be delivered the next day if ordered from within the Benelux.

I ordered a diversity of parts for my engine, but also a new headliner and visors. They do have a small selection of split screen sheet metal available. Contact them for more details or special requests, since they have a lot of contacts in the Volkswagen scene.

Stop your search for those Samba trims, that Westfalia imperial or those Safari windows. Do not get ripped off by ruthless merchants that will try to make every last penny out of their trade. All of these gadgets can be found at Creative Engineering: Dave will personally guarantee the quality of his products.

His deliveries could use a little more organization as I heard from word of mouth and the products from Creative Engineering are far from cheap, but the quality of their products is truly, world-wide unmatched!

In addition to window rubber, electrical, suspension, brake, service, glass, seals, interior, wiring, lights etc. Alan specialises in panels which are no longer available for the Splitscreen, Baywindow and Type 25 vans.

Many of their repair panels and parts are expertly manufactured by hand, in house, to the highest standards and specification.

At the time of my own restoration many (sheet metal) parts have come from Alan.
