Hazel Armstrong (the van) is back on the road since July 2005, after the completion of a 3 year restoration. We have enjoyed several beautiful trips along the European and English Atlantic coastline.
We hope that the information provided on this website will help our colleague amateur-mechanics through the dark times of the restoration process. Especially these moments when you consider to grab a sledgehammer or a jerry can and matches to get rid of this big, useless, rusty hump of steal... Let us set you at ease, after all the time and effort you have spent, we guarantee that there is nothing like driving around in your self-made van.

Hazel Armstrong's walkabout!
The time is nearly there: Hazel Armstrong is almost ready for its travels! Our house is for sale and the van is currently under maintenance. Besides a thorough check on the engine there will also be some modification on the interior: new curtains, some extra closets, fold down seats and an Eberspächer heating system for the colder destinations. Furthermore I plan to install extra water storage tanks and fog lights. Finally, we will order a new 6 bow Westfalia roof rack so we will be able to carry any extra luggage we are likely to pick up on the way.
